A New Year Guide to Realistic Goals, Self-Love, and Holistic Living

A New Year's Guide to Realistic Goals, Self-Love, and Holistic Living
Actively You - Mobile Personal Training Brisbane

Ah, the New Year! The time when everyone’s buzzing with resolutions, promises to hit the gym every day, and declare war on the cookie jar. But let’s hit the pause button on the traditional New Year resolutions, shall we? Instead of the age-old drill of restricting yourself, let’s focus on setting intentions that genuinely nurture your body and mind. Say goodbye to the exhausting resolutions that make you feel like a failure by February.

🌟 Embrace realistic new year goals. It’s not about a complete overhaul; it’s about small, sustainable changes. Maybe it’s adding a few more veggies to your plate or finding a workout you genuinely enjoy. Let’s make this journey enjoyable and guilt-free!

💖 Love yourself fiercely. Your worth isn’t determined by a number on a scale or a gym attendance sheet. It’s about the love you shower on yourself, the kindness you offer your body, and the joy you find in everyday moments. This year, let self-love be your guiding light.

🌈 Shift the focus from appearance to function. Instead of chasing an ideal body, celebrate what your body can do. Cherish the strength in your legs, the resilience of your heart, and the marvel that is your body’s ability to heal and thrive.

🧘‍♀️ Prioritize mental well-being. Let’s not forget the powerhouse that is your mind. Set intentions to practice mindfulness, embrace gratitude, and foster a positive mindset. Your mental health is just as crucial as your physical health.

🤝 Build a supportive community. Surround yourself with people who uplift, inspire, and understand the journey you’re on. Whether it’s friends, family, or an online community, having a support system can make all the difference.

✨ Cultivate joy in movement. Exercise doesn’t have to be a punishment. Find activities that bring you joy—whether it’s dancing, hiking, or yoga. The goal is to move your body in ways that make you smile, not to fit into a narrow definition of fitness.

🎊 Reflect, not just on resolutions, but on growth. Celebrate the progress you make, no matter how small. Growth isn’t always visible on the outside, but the positive changes you feel within are just as significant.

Let this new year be about holistic well-being, about actively loving, moving, and nourishing your body. Let’s make 2024 a year of self-love, realistic goals, and a journey that’s uniquely yours! 🌟💕

Balancing Act: Joyful Exercise and Celebrating Rest During the Holidays
You’re not failing, your body is just adapting.

Weight loss changes a lot of things.
Energy changes.
Recovery changes.
And forcing yourself to train like nothing’s different?
That’s why it can feel so hard.

You don’t need more discipline or motivation. You need a different approach and to be kinder to yourself.

You are not broken 🩷

Follow for realistic strength support 🥰

Everyone says “just start slow.”

But here’s the part they don’t explain…

What’s ‘slow’ for one body can still be WAY too much for another.

Especially after weight loss.
Especially if energy is unpredictable.
Especially if you’ve already been pushing for years.

So you try… You feel wrecked, you still hate it and assume it’s just not for you.

But it’s not you!

The problem is plans that don’t adapt.
Realistic strength means adjusting *within* the plan, not quitting it altogether.

That’s how movement becomes something you can actually stick to 🩷🙌🏻

Your body isn’t a machine, you don’t just switch it on every morning and it behaves the same.

Some days you have energy. WEW!
Some days you don’t. WAH!

If you expect the same of your body everyday... that’s why workouts suck.

I’m on a GLP-1 and I live with chronic fatigue (plus so much more but lets save that for another story!).

If I only trained on “good energy” days… I’d barely move! LITERALLY!

What actually works?
Different workouts for different days. Some days i feel good and i can do strength or a run. Other days it might be pilates or even a stretch.

I have a plan that adapts to how i’m feeling on any given day.

This is how consistency actually happens 🙌🏻🩷 Follow for more help on how to navigate movement on GLP-1s!

Weight loss is already a LOT on your body.

Less appetite.
Less energy.
Hormone shifts.
Nervous system stress.

And yet somehow we’ve been taught that we need to:
➡️ push harder
➡️ do more
➡️ punish ourselves with exercise

No wonder it feels impossible!!

So what do we do?!
MAKE IT EASIER.
Support your body instead of fighting it.
Choose strength that fits your level!

You’re not lazy.
You’re not broken.
You don’t need more discipline or motivation.

You need a plan that works *with* your body 🩷

Follow for realistic, supportive strength! Especially if you’re navigating weight loss or on a GLP-1🙌🏻💪
